The Importance of a Warranty

I like value for money but I am also happy to pay for quality and in the case of my Rukka Trousers I am glad I did. As well as the 5 year warranty, extended to 6 via the distributor, they are also covered by Gore’s GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY promise which lasts for the lifetime of the garment provided you have looked after them properly.

I had occasion to use this when my trousers purchased in January 2022 started to leak on the recent CWAM Tour of Scotland and then repeated the trick on Howard’s 2 day trip to Llandudno. I first contacted the retailer, Motolegends in this case, and they offered me a couple of options one of which was to contact Gore directly which they opined was the fastest way to get my claim dealt with. So I gave the Toll Free number a call and spoke to Ruben who then dealt with my claim from start to finish. My trousers were posted off to their repair center in Lancashire after the photos they requested were analysed.

5 days later they confirmed that my trousers were indeed leaking and arranged to refund me the full original purchase price and the postage cost. This kind of service and preparedness to stand by their product is becoming rarer these days in my experience so it was worth paying that little bit extra for quality in this instance.
