Well what a start to the season. 9 games in and still unbeaten with 5 wins and 4 draws, scoring 27 goals including a 7-1 win vs QPR and 5 goals against Derby and Sheffield Wednesday both away. This kind of exciting football takes me back to the 1997-98 Season with Dublin, Huckerby, Whelan, McAllister et al playing some of the best football of their careers.
Haji Wright is currently the league top scorer with 8 goals with Brandon Thomas-Assante and Victor Torp in joint 3rd with 5 goals each. Haji looks back to his best after a injury hit last season and although at times can be extremely frustrating when he is on it he is clearly a class above and has a great chance of winning the Golden Boot this year if he can maintain his fitness and form.
Elsewhere BTA has been a revelation with his work rate and finishing, which I thought lacked composure last season, filling in for Ephron Mason-Clark on the left and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto on the right when they have missed games through injury.
It has been a pleasure watching this team so far and with the international break over and Blackburn at home coming up I am expecting us to carry on the good form and hopefully establish ourselves as genuine promotion contenders in the run up to Christmas.
